At the intermediate level you will build on the basic skills and learn, through
a series of tasks, to develop your communication skills with your horse
to a point where your horse will not only do what you ask, but do it
willingly and with respect.
Students will receive three hours of instruction each day, Monday through Saturday.
The rest of the day can be spent practicing what you have learned or going
for a trail ride. Bring your whole family! We will be happy to entertain
them with our full dude ranch program while you’re attending the clinic.
The Instructor
Chip
Harris lives in Colorado, works full time giving clinics around the
western states, and has given clinics at the Laramie River Dude Ranch
since 2001. After growing up with horses, Chip Harris began his
journey into the world of natural horsemanship ten years ago when he
attended his first six-day clinic with Pat and Linda Parelli.
Within a year he achieved his level two assessment with Linda Parelli
and within two years had become an instructor. Since then he
became a two star level three instructor, and a one star colt starting
and foundation specialist. He continued his education with the
Parellis through Instructor Intensive courses, Professional’s
Conferences, and many clinics and Savvy Conferences. As a member
of the Savvy Team he has done numerous opening demos for Pat and Linda
Parelli, David and Karen O’Connor and Craig Johnson. He resigned
his endorsement with the Parellis in 2004 to focus on developing his own
training facilities, and to expand his breeding and colt starting
program. Chip will continue to give clinics and instruction in
natural horsemanship both at the Laramie River Dude Ranch and around the
western states.
While
there are many qualified horseman around, Chip is truly exceptional in
that he not only has the horse skills but he also has excellent people
skills. He is a dynamic, motivational and empathetic teacher.
Chip is completely enthusiastic about what he does and it’s very
contagious! As one guest told us at the end of her stay, "This was a
life changing experience!"
